Joe Sciberras and his son Isaac are one of the first organic farmers in the island, being registered since 2006. In charge of a large farm just next to the Majjistral Park, a Natura 2000 site, they resonate with their surroundings by practicing organic farming which has a notably low impact on the environment. A pioneer of organic agriculture in Malta, Joe goes about his day at the farm tending to the fields and the animals that he rears without trying to disrupt nature and its cycles. Organic farming avails of the equilibrium of biodiversity and works in harmony with nature to derive healthy and nutritious produce in a sustainable way.

As a member of the Malta Organic Agriculture Movement (MOAM), Joe contributes to various educational courses seeking to inspire other farmers to employ organic agricultural principles and how to use homemade remedies to pests and diseases. Having regenerated marginal land off Manikata, Joe gives more to the land than he takes and invests in the soil’s fertility. As a beacon of organic agriculture in Malta, Joe is an inspiration to farmers and consumers genuinely interested in organic agriculture, working to show us the fruits of putting health and the environment first.
